Carter's First... Piece of Mail

It's amazing how many "firsts" this guy will have. Not sure I'll be able to document them all but I can try!

This past weekend was exciting (not in a good way) when my symptoms of mastitis and thrush became very clear. I was wondering why nursing was so incredibly painful for me and not for others. Talk about being baptized by fire into Motherhood. Luckily I went to the doctor on Monday and now I (and Carter too) are on meds and probiotics! Yay immunity! Feeling much better now but not 100%.

A-d-o-r-a-b-l-e! (Part One) - Plus 2 Week Pediatrician Apptointment Update

I *love* this picture! Normally I am in the bed with everyone on the other side of PugPuggy. This is how we've been spending a majority of our days (or at least trying to). This is currently Carter's best soothing position (complete with long, loud Shushings in his ear - i.e. white noise). Oh... this is the life!

BTW: Carter had his 2 week well check at the pediatrician's office and he gained a whopping 15 ounces in 9 days bringing his current total to 9 lbs. 4 ounces! The doc was shocked and impressed since they shoot for babies gaining one ounce per day. Guess that breastfeeding is really working out! No worries there! Also, he has gained 1 3/4 inches in length bringing his current length to 21 3/4 inches. Cool!

Oh Yes I Did!

I forgot about these pictures. These were taken last Monday, March 1st after our first pediatrician appointment. We swung through Target for some necessities and walking though the store was not high on my list of priorities so I used the cart. It - was - A-W-E-S-O-M-E! I highly recommend it!

Many of you have asked how PugPuggy has taken to being a big sister. We are happy to report that she is so sweet with Baby Carter. She loves to just sit and look at him (usually wagging her tail the whole time) and when she comes in from being outside she searches the house for him so she knows where he is at all times.
